"Advent Children" takes place two years after the events in the game.
Cloud has been living alone during these two years, traveling and changing his
whereabouts frequently. But he returns to Midgar when he recieves a phone call
from someone who asks for protection from a man named Kadaj.
A new disease called Geostigma (Seikon-Shoukougun, aka Star Scar Syndrome) is
threatening the planet. What caused this disease? Has it got something to do
with the impact of Meteor?
And who are the SHM? All we know is that the words which appears in the E3
trailer, "Geostigma", "Jenova", "Reunion", has got something to do with them.
And to quote Mr. Nomura: "With them showing up, the peace that has lasted for 2
years will begin to deteriorate".
